Policy Overview
This policy applies to all Las Vegas Wedding Officiant ceremonies, including legal weddings, elopements, micro-weddings, full ceremonies, vow renewals, and symbolic or commitment ceremonies in Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, and surrounding areas.
How retainers, payment deadlines, remaining balances, add-ons, and online booking grace periods are handled.
How date, time, location, weather, park closure, and late-change requests are handled when plans shift.
What happens when a ceremony is cancelled, delayed, or cannot reasonably proceed on the scheduled day.
If anything is unclear, please contact us before submitting payment so we can clarify expectations for your ceremony, location, guest count, timing, and any add-ons.
1. Booking Retainer & Payments
To reserve your date and time, a 50% non-refundable retainer is required for all officiant services, including vow renewals and symbolic ceremonies. This retainer covers holding a specific slot on the calendar and the pre-ceremony work that begins immediately.
The retainer covers intake review, communication, planning, script preparation, and reserving your ceremony time.
Optional add-ons may be paid in full at booking or added and paid up to 72 hours before your ceremony.
After that point, add-ons are locked in and non-refundable.
View available options on the Add-Ons page.
For ceremonies booked online at least 7 days in advance, you have a 24-hour grace period after your initial booking to cancel for a full refund of monies paid, minus any non-recoverable payment-processing fees.
After this window, the standard cancellation policy applies.
You may reschedule once at no additional charge if the request is made at least 14 days before the ceremony and the new date or time is within 12 months, with the same couple, within the normal service area, and subject to availability.
Additional reschedules or reschedule requests made 3–13 days before the ceremony are subject to a $50 reschedule fee. In those cases, monies already paid are applied as a credit toward the new date, and no cash refunds are issued.
A reschedule request made within 72 hours of the scheduled ceremony is treated the same as a late cancellation or no-show because that time is extremely difficult to re-book.
2–3. Reschedules, Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation and reschedule outcomes depend on how close the request is to the ceremony date. Timing matters because ceremony preparation, travel planning, calendar availability, and lost booking opportunities all increase as the ceremony gets closer.
One free reschedule is available when requested at least 14 days before the ceremony, subject to availability and within 12 months for the same couple.
The 50% retainer remains non-refundable. Any additional payments may be refunded to the original payment method or converted into a credit toward a future date within 12 months for the same couple.
No cash refunds. 100% of what you have paid converts to a credit for a new date within 12 months for the same couple, subject to availability.
One reschedule in this window may be made without an additional reschedule fee.
No cash refunds. 75% of payments convert to a credit toward a new date within 6–12 months for the same couple.
25% is retained as a late-change fee to cover lost booking opportunities and preparation time.
Reschedule requests, cancellations, or major changes within 72 hours are treated as late cancellations. There is no automatic refund or credit.
If you fail to appear or arrive so late that the ceremony cannot reasonably proceed, all payments are non-refundable and non-creditable.
Location Changes
If your original location becomes unusable due to weather, park closures, or permit issues, we will make a good-faith effort to relocate the ceremony to an alternate spot within the standard service area and keep your officiant fee the same, subject to availability.
Popular public-land or scenic locations may be affected by weather, permits, access rules, crowding, closures, or travel timing.
Examples include Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, and other outdoor ceremony locations.
Any separate venue, permit, park, admission, parking, reservation, photography, or location fees are the couple’s responsibility.
Browse more ceremony area examples under the live Welcome to Las Vegas Sign, Bellagio Fountains Area, and Fremont Street pages.
4. Our Right to Cancel & Day-Of Timing
In rare situations, a ceremony may need to be cancelled, declined, shortened, or adjusted because of illness, accident, serious emergency, unsafe conditions, missing legal documents, extreme intoxication, threatening behavior, venue limits, or timing conflicts with another couple’s ceremony.
If we must cancel due to illness, accident, or another serious emergency and cannot provide a qualified replacement officiant, all monies paid for officiant services will be refunded in full within 7 business days.
If the ceremony cannot safely or legally proceed, we may decline to perform the ceremony. Fees then follow the same timing rules described in the cancellation section above.
We aim to arrive 30–60 minutes before the ceremony start time, depending on location and complexity.
There is a 20-minute grace period for normal delays, including guest seating, finishing photos, and quick timing shifts.
If the ceremony start is delayed more than 20 minutes, we may shorten the ceremony so it still fits within the booked time.
If our schedule allows and you want to keep the full plan, an overtime fee may apply and will be discussed before proceeding.
If extreme lateness would cause us to miss another couple’s ceremony or exceed venue or permit limits, we may have to end or significantly shorten the service with no refund.
5. Legal vs. Symbolic Ceremonies
This policy applies equally to legal Nevada marriages with a valid Nevada marriage license and symbolic ceremonies or vow renewals where no marriage license is required.
Legal ceremonies require a valid Nevada marriage license. For post-ceremony filing details, visit the Marriage License Filing Service page.
Vow renewals and symbolic ceremonies are not legally binding, so no witnesses or license are required. The booking, reschedule, and cancellation terms remain the same because our time, travel, and preparation are identical.
